German Shepard turned messenger pigeon
V is holed up in our office, surrounded by quals studying materials. I needed some files from his computer but was in no hurry to get them. Instead of waiting or just bringing them to me, he puts the animals to good use. It was risky, considering that the dog recently ate the tv remote, but V just put the flash drive around his neck* and told me to call him. It worked! The super amazing Data Transfer Dog!
*He is very used to collars and leashes of all sorts and has never tripped over them. Also, he only had to go about 20 ft., no stairs and was in sight of both of us the whole time. It was a low risk procedure.

Do you remember that cartoon show with the dog that had the cannister tied to its neck? It was a drama, and the dog played an integral part by transporting stuff (mostly messages?) between the people (a girl and her grandpa?). I don't remember much about it.
I don't know how old you are --maybe you weren't in the right age range for that show. Anyway, this reminded me of it.
Hey, only a GSD could handle such an improtant job!
He looks prepared to deliver more data, should the need arise!!
Excellent idea! Perhaps I should put the Dixie Dog to such a use! Make her earn her keep and all that :-)
now that the idea has been tested...watch out ...the possibilites are endless. love the story!
HAHA! Cute!
The only way it could be better is if we make a hybrid collar that holds data and a maragrita all St. Bernard style!
egf- I don't remember the show but was deprived of cable until high school so I might have missed it! Sounds like a good dog though!
Geeka- Oh no! Our cats hate having things stuck on them- although it sounds like something I am going to try one of these days while V is studying =)
